Janesville’s Rotary Gardens announces new director

| By Big Radio News Staff |
Janesville’s Rotary Botanical Gardens has announced a new director is poised to take the helm early next week.
Randy Hughes, the nonprofit gardens’ board president and interim director, says Rotary Gardens is hiring Michelle Ryan, a development director of Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity.
Hughes says Ryan’s work as a nonprofit official for a largely volunteer, heavily donation-based housing agency, shows she’s well suited to marshal volunteers, raise funds and see major projects to completion.
Ryan replaces outgoing director Becky Kronberg, who resigned the Rotary Gardens in April.
Ryan also says she’s an avid gardener. But Hughes says Ryan’s work organizing volunteers and fundraising, as well as some expertise in employee relations, are her major strengths.
Hughes says Ryan says she believes there’s value in finding good employees and volunteers who can continue to elevate the gardens’ quality.
She’s slated to start work July 15.
