Voters in the Evansville School District will have another operational referendum on their ballots in November after narrowly rejecting a question in April.
The school board on Monday night OK’d a new question that would allow the district to collect $2.9 million over its state-imposed revenue limit for three years. The resolution passed on a unanimous 6-0 vote.
April’s rejected question asked for an increasing amount of additional revenue each year through the 2028-29 school year.
The district says the money will allow it to restore positions that were cut after a previous operational referendum expired and to address HVAC issues in district buildings.
Evansville joins Janesville and Milton as school districts that are asking voters to consider referendum questions this fall.
