The Milton School Board reduced the district’s tax levy for the 2024-25 fiscal year.
The school district’s levy was $22.6 million last fiscal year. Collections will decrease to $22.1 million for the current year after the board met Monday and approved the levy.
The district also projects a reduced mill rate to $6.70 per $100,000 of equalized value. Over the last five years, the mill rate has decreased 27.6%.
Revenues for the 2023-24 fiscal year, including state aid and open enrollment revenue, totaled $66.7 million, and the district spent $62.3 million. Its fund equity at the end of the fiscal year was just over $20 million.
