Beloit police investigate weekend shooting

A 23-year-old Janesville woman is recovering and a suspect is on the run after a weekend shooting in Beloit.  Police say an officer on patrol pursued a vehicle in the 600-block of 3rd street a little before 1:00 a-m Sunday.  It crashed in the 17-hundred block of Prairie Avenue.  Officers found a passenger had been shot in the abdomen.  She was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Police say the 19-year-old driver of the car, Lavesha Burnett of Janesville was arrested on a charge of Knowingly Fleeing.  Another passenger, 23-year-oold Dajon McClinton was arrested on charges of Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Reckelssly Endangering Safety.  Police haven’t released the identity of the suspect, but say the shooting was not random.
