A Beloit man receives a federal prison sentence on a drug dealing charge.
The U.S. Department of Justice says Judge William Conley sentenced Denzen Jones, 42, to seven years in federal prison Wednesday for possessing cocaine for distribution and possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. Five years of supervised release will follow.
Jones pleaded guilty to the charges in July. He sold cocaine to a Rock County Sheriff’s Office informant in 2022.
In a search of his Beloit home later that year, authorities found 30 grams of cocaine packaged distribution, more than $2,000 in cash, drug trafficking supplies and a loaded 9-millimeter semiautomatic firearm.
