A 58-year-old Darlington man is dead after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 14 west of Janesville. The Rock County Sheriff’s Office reports the victim was driving east over the Rock River bridge, about 11:30 Saturday morning, when his vehicle hit a piece of farm machinery being towed by a tractor in the oncoming lane. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The sheriff’s office adds a 68-year-old female passenger was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The farm tractor operator did not need medical treatment. Highway 14 was closed for six-hours during the investigation. The name of the deceased is expected to be released by the Rock County Medical Examiner’s Office.
