The end is in sight for the future Children’s Museum of Rock County.
Board President John Westphal says to date, $11.5 million of the original $10 million goal has been raised.
Westphal says the plan is to break ground on the renovation of the old First National Bank building in downtown Janesville in March of 2025.
In addition to construction of the museum, the Board also intends to hire the museum’s executive director in 2025.
Construction is expected to take 10 to 13 months, with the goal of opening in 2026.
