A handful of seats on the Janesville and Beloit city councils will be up for election in April.
Janesville City Clerk Lori Stottler says Dec. 1 was the first day to circulate nomination papers.
In Janesville, there are four city council seats up for election. They are currently held by Michael Jackson, Heather Miller, Richard Neeno and Dave Marshick.
Miller, Jackson and Neeno have indicated they intend to seek re-election. A newcomer, Jack Herndon, also says he intends to run. Herndon ran unsuccessfully for Janesville City Council in 2021.
In Beloit there are three city council seats up for election. The incumbents who currently hold those seats include Yusuf Adama, Sherry Blakeley and Nancy Forbeck.
