Work ramps up on the Woodman’s Sports and Convention Center as the end of the years-long endeavor is finally in sight.
Janesville City Manager Kevin Lahner told the City Council this week that the project is still expected to wrap up this summer.
Lahner says crews are currently working on the rink, putting in refrigeration piping, and pouring concrete floors.
Lahner says the City has paid about 50 percent of the project costs, recently completed the request for proposals for the furniture for the building, and just opened up the request for proposals for signage.
Construction is scheduled to finish up in June of 2025, with the City taking occupancy in July or August.
