A locally owned restaurant in downtown Janesville closes its doors.
Joan and Richard Neeno say they have closed Lark, which opened in 2017 at 60 S. Main St.
In a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page signed by the Neenos, they say they’ve spent so much money, time and emotional energy to keep the restaurant afloat.
Lark previously closed for the first quarter of 2024, reopening in early April, before the news of the permanent closure came Tuesday night.
Lark Market and Sandwich Bar will remain open. The Neenos said those businesses that they run have grown in the past year.
They also included a call to action to support small downtown businesses, saying there has been tremendous progress downtown since Lark’s opening but that the progress is fragile.
