The Rock County couple charged with stealing a vehicle with a toddler inside and then abandoning the child on the side of the road in freezing weather, appear in Rock county Court.
27-year-old Kristopher Klein of Janesville and 23-year-old Neanni Bowman of Beloit face charges of taking and driving a vehicle without the owner’s consent, abduction of a child, and abandonment of a child.
On Monday, Court Commissioner Jack Hoag set cash bond at $200,000 for Klein and $50,000 for 23-year-old Neanni Bowman who police say came along for the ride and helped remove the toddler’s car seat from the vehicle.
Prosecutors says after abandoning the two-year-old on the side of the road, Klein continued driving until police used stop sticks and a PIT maneuver to disable the stolen vehicle he was driving.
