Under a proposal under consideration by the Janesville City Council could eventually lead to a Janesville-Milton joint fire consolidation in the future.
Janesville Fire Chief Randy Banker says the two departments have already been working together under a functional consolidation since last year.
Banker says he’s asking the City Council to approve an intergovernmental agreement which could expand on those shared services. If approved, the agreement could eventually lead to the Janesville Fire Department taking over administrative oversight of the Milton Fire Department.
The Janesville City Council meets Monday night at 6:00 p.m.
