Sustainability is a core value for Wisconsin dairy farmers. Many implement conservation practices like cover cropping, reduced tillage, and crop rotation to keep soil healthy and water clean. Even dairy cows are natural recyclers! About one-third of their diet consists of byproducts from other industries, reducing waste while producing nutritious dairy products.

Halie Heinzel, our current Alice in Dairyland, joins us to showcase more ways Wisconsin dairy farmers are committed to a sustainable future
