No one is hurt following a fire burned the basement at an apartment building in Janesville.

Authorities say the Janesville Fire Department was dispatched Tuesday night to an eight-unit apartment building at 1814 North Randall on a report of a possible basement fire.
Crews found smoke coming from the building and a resident trapped on a second-floor balcony.
Firefighters rescued the person and a pet, and fire crews contained the blaze to the basement.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Janesville Fire Department.
