Man found competent to stand trial in 2011 murder

The man accused of killing a Racine woman in 2011 and dumping her body in Rock County may have mental health issues, but it’s not enough to prevent him from aiding in his own defense.
Judge Michael Haakenson found 53-year-old Keith Abbott competent to stand trail Wednesday.
Abbott entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity or mental defect. A trial is scheduled to begin September 18th.
Abbott is accused of killing the mother of his grandchild after the woman blackmailed him by threatening to tell his wife.
