The Department of Workforce Development is touting how all areas of the state enjoyed a decrease in unemployment in December compared to a year ago. That includes Rock County, which shows a decline of .7% over the year. The current rate is 3.9% Unemployment did increased slightly in December compared to the month before however, although it was just .1%. The DWD highlights how the latest figures show unemployment insurance claims last year were their lowest since 1988.
