Join the Diversity Action Team of Rock County for an opportunity to develop cultural competence in working with the transgender community.
Guest speaker, Shelley Gregory, is the Transgender Resource Specialist at the Milwaukee LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) Community Center. Shelley is a trans-identified person whose work focuses on helping improve the lives of transgender and gender non-conforming persons in the greater Milwaukee area. Shelley provides referrals to transgender-specific and transgender-friendly area resources, engages in advocacy on behalf of transgender clients, and partners with other LGBTQ organizations, service providers, and coalitions to advance transgender rights and eliminate barriers to full inclusion for transgender individuals.
The free event will take place on Wednesday, February 15th from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Blackhawk Technical College.
