The Green County Sheriff’s Office is investigating if speed played a role in a deadly two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon, which claimed the life of three teenagers. Investigators say 16-year-old Gage Noble was traveling west on Melvin Road and failed to stop at the intersection with Clarno Road a little after 2.00 p.m. and hit a Chevrolet Suburban driven by a 35-year-old rural Monroe woman. Noble was pronounced dead at the scene. A sheriff’s office news release says his passengers, 16-year-old Anya Teasdale and 15-year-old Joseph Wyss died at University Hospital in Madison Saturday. The driver of the Suburban is in serious conditions. The Monroe School District organized a vigil to remember the teens in downtown Monroe Saturday night. Monroe High School offered grief counseling over the weekend. A makeshift memorial has grown at the crash scene over the weekend as classmates and residents left flowers and other tokens.
