Half as many students have been expelled from the Janesville School District this year than at this same time last year.
A high school student was expelled for making a bomb threat to destroy school property. The student is not eligable for early reinstatement before the age of 21.
Another high school student was expelled for possessing multiple weapons and knives on school grounds. That student is eligible for early reinstatement if a number of conditions are met including attending alternative educational programming, obtaining a substance abuse evaluation, and taking all prescribed medications.
This brings the total number of expulsions this school year to eight compared to 16 at the same time last year.
