Former owner of Janesville RV sentenced to 7.5 years in prison

The 48-year-old Evansville man who plead guilty to swindling his former customers at Janesville RV out of hundreds of thousands of dollars will spend seven and a half years behind bars.
Tofte plead guilty in January to 15 of the 35 counts of felony fraud and theft he had faced.
Authorities say while Tofte owned Janesville R-V, he failed to deliver trailers customers had purchased, and also sold trailers on consignment without turning the money over to the original owners. There were more than thirty victims in the case.
Tofte was also ordered to pay back nearly $400,000 in restitution to his victims – most of who are retirees.
In addition to the prison time, Tofte was given eight years of extended supervision and six years of probation.
