Janesville police are investigating an early Monday morning armed robbery at Campbell’s 5 Points Mobile in the 600 block of West Milwaukee Street. Officers responded at 1:36 a.m. to the convenience store to learn a man, who displayed a handgun and demanded an undisclosed amount of money from the lone store clerk, had fled on foot. A Rock County Sheriff’s Office K9 unit tracked the suspect from the scene but the robber, described as a black man around 5 feet 8 inches tall and 190 pounds, was not located. Officers, who said no one was injured during the incident, are reviewing video surveillance in their ongoing investigation.
