Could be a tough season for ticks. With steadily increasing incidents of tick bourne Lyme Disease, Rock County Health Department Environmental Health Supervisor Matthew Wesson is warning outdoor enthusiasts to take precautions. Wesson suggests wearing proper clothing and using an insect repellent with DEET. He also says be sure to check your self and pets for ticks anytime after being in the woods or brush. He says the best way to remove them is with a tweezers placed gently just behind the head and pulling them out. The state legislature has passed a resolution proclaiming May as Lyme Disease Awareness Month.
