A Madison man who was arrested in Janesville trying to pass fake $100 bills is sentenced to three years of probation.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Madison says 21-year-old Parish Barbary-Wheatherby plead guilty to passing counterfeit U.S. currency in January.
In January of last year, Barbary-Wheatherby and four others traveled to various cities from Baraboo to Janesville making small purchases with fake $100 bills in order to get back the change.
The group were taken into custody by Janesville Police after several Milton Avenue businesses became suspicious.
In addition to the prison time Stewart was ordered to pay back $4,600 in restitution.
