Five years probation ordered in Janesville shooting case

Prosecutors appear to have a witness in a shooting last November near Janesville’s Fourth Ward Park. As part of a plea deal reached in Rock County Court Wednesday morning, Judge Michael Haakensen sentenced 26-year-old Fredereick E. Johnson of Janesville to five-years probation. Prosecutors acknowledged Johnson didn’t even have a gun when 19-year-old Mandrick T.J. Teich was shot, and applauded him for taking responsibility for his part in a marijuana buy. 21-year-old Nando M. Enis of Janesville and 16-year-old Eric M. Short of Beloit face charges of being party to attempted first degree homicide. Both are currently in the Rock County Jail.
