The Milton School Board appears ready to make a decision regarding a building referendum. The school board Monday night agreed to hold a special meeting July 10th to focus solely on district facility needs and narrow down the terms of a future referendum proposal. Board members have been discussing the issue for weeks and bantered around dollar amounts ranging from $40-to-$80 million. Voters rejected an $87-million question last fall. Architects say building a new high school would actually be cheaper than renovation the old one, and would cost around $84-million. The school board may not make a final decision July 10th, but is expected to come close.
