Motorists traveling one of eight Janesville thoroughfares experiencing street resurfacing work this week may want to plan ahead or take another route.
The City of Janesville’s engineering department says work will begin Tuesday on South River Road from West State Street to Kellogg Avenue, 250 feet Carrington Street west South Fremont Street, South Fremont Street from Sharon Road to East Racine Street, South Garfield Avenue from Wheeler Street to Clark Street, East Wall Street from Parker Place to North Atwood Avenue, Milton Avenue from East Milwaukee Street to East Centerway, North Atwood Avenue from East Milwaukee Street to Prospect avenue, and 250 feet of Prospect Avenue east of Caroline Street.
All of the projects are expected to wrap up by July 31st.
Paving and milling work on Fremont Street from Sharon Road to East Racine Street will affect the Wright Road and Nightside East Janesville Transit System bus routes Wednesday and Thursday.
Work on Atwood Avenue between East Milwaukee street and Prospect avenue will affect the Milton Avenue, Nightside Milton Avenue, and East Milwaukee street JTS bus routes on Thursday and Friday.
Drivers are encouraged to reduce speeds when driving through work zones and to use alternative routes when possible.
