Janesville man convicted on federal weapons charges

A federal jury in Madison finds a 33-year-old Janesville man guilty on charges of stealing weapons and being a felon in possession of a firearm.  Jurors deliberated for about two hours this morning, after a one day trial for Joseph Jakubowski Monday.   Jakubowski was captured last April in western Wisconsin after sparking a 10-day national manhunt, following a gun store burglary in Janesville, and the delivery of a lengthy manifesto to the president.  He’s scheduled to be sentenced on the federal charges December 20th.  Jakubowski still faces charges in Rock County.  His next court appearance will be next month.
