Facebook aids in capture of burglary suspect

A 21-year-old Janesville man is facing charges including Burglary, Theft, and Criminal Damage to Property after police say a Facebook Post helped connect him to the crimes.  Mason A. Galvan is accused of breaking into the Woodman’s Gas Station on North Lexington Drive a little before 4:00 a.m. Tuesday and stealing carton’s of cigarettes.  A little before 7:00 a.m. an employee at Walgreens on Kettering Street called to report someone was trying to smash the windows of the closed business with a pipe and propane tank.  Officers say they ended up tracking Galvan to his home on Rotamer Road because a Woodman’s employee found his post on the Janesville Swapmeet Facebook page selling cartons of cigarettes.  Police say they also have video surveillance confirming Galvan as the suspect.
