Crash in Rock County leads to 5th OWI charge

A 50-year-old Madison man is facing several charges after the Rock County Sheriff’s Officer reports finding a crashed SUV on South Coon Island Road north of West Highway 11.  Deputies say they found the vehicle a little before 8:00 o’clock Monday night after the driver appeared to fail to negotiate a curve, hit a traffic sign, and then a tree.   Following a search of the area, deputies say they found Matthew Roidt about two miles from the scene.  Roidt was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated 5th Offense, and also issued citations for Failing to Report and Accident, and Hit and Run to Property Adjacent to a Highway.
