Motorists headed south on the Interstate between Janesville and Beloit should expect a detour Tuesday night. The Department of Transportation says both southbound lanes between Highway 11-Avalon Road and County S-Shopiere Road interchanges will be closed from 8:30 p.m. til 5:00 a.m. Wednesday. The lanes are being closed for pavement repair to maintain the integrity of the temporary asphalt widening as part of the expansion project. Southbound traffic will be redirected off the Interstate at the Avalon Road 177 exit to County G-Prairie Avenue, County BT and County S northeast of Beloit. The southbound on-ramp at Highway 11-Avalon Road will also be closed. The northbound lanes of the Interstate will remain open.
