A Janesville couple, who's toddler son was critically injured by police in Georgia more than a year ago, is clearly disappointed by the verdict in the criminal trial of a former sheriff's deputy there. Alecia Phonesavanh tells the Janesville Gazette they're not going to quit fighting for justice. 19-month old Bou Bou Phonesavanh was injured by a flash bang thrown in his crib by police when the family was visiting relative in Georgia a year ago in May. A jury in the federal case acquitted the deputy on charges related to accusations she falsified infromation to get a judge to sign a search warrant at the home the Phonesavanh's were staying. The family has reached a financial settlement with Habersham County totaling close to a million dollars, which is expected to pay Bou Bou's medical bills totaling at least that much.
