The YWCA Rock County is recruiting individuals and teams for the annual “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” to raise awareness about domestic violence.
YWCA Communications Director Katina Carlson says it’s become a real tradition. This will be the 12th year for the event. Carlson says registration is free, but each individuals and team is encouraged to solicit donations.
Last year about 200 men donned high-heeled shoes for the event, which has a goal this year of more than $100-thousand.
The “Walk” is scheduled for August 10th at 5:30 p.m. at the Pontiac Convention Center in Janesville.
