The Beloit NAACP branch invites a famous civil rights activist and author to speak at the annual Freedom Fund Banquet.
James Meredith was the first African American admitted into Ole Miss in 1962 and in 1966 he organized a march across the state of Mississippi to encourage black people to set aside their fears and register to vote.
The annual Freedom Fund Banquet kicks off on October 25th at 6:00 p.m. at the Eclipse Center in Beloit.
To purchase tickets contact Beloit NAACP branch president Dorothy Harrell at 608-365-1881 or Linda Ward at 608-365-2412.
