Officials with a local school district are hoping third time’s the charm for a referendum question. Beloit-Turner Superintendent Dennis McCarthy says this time around a community committee has done most the work. The committee pointed to the need to replace the aging Townview Elementary School with a newer $22 million facility near the middle and high schools. Along with upgrades at other schools, the total price tag for this referendum will be a little more than $26 million. Not much less than a question which failed by only three votes in the spring. A question in 2013 to build a new high school however failed by a two-to-one margin.
