Authorities are releasing more information about a homicide Wednesday night in Beloit.
Police say 49-year-old Jose Carrera Reyes of Beloit was shot in the 1700 block of Harrison Avenue around 8:15 p.m. and transported to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center before being pronounced dead.
Officers arrested a 20-year-old Ezequiel C. Acosta of Beloit in connection with the shooting and say they also recovered the firearm believed to be involved in the shooting.
The case has been forwarded to the Rock County District Attorney for possible charges.
