New details in the case of a stabbing death of a Delavan woman continue to show a strange situation.
56-year-old Robert J. Scott is charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the death of his 58-year-old wife last week.
According to the criminal complaint filed Thursday, Scott called police on himself and told them he murdered his wife and would wait for police in the driveway.
Scott is quoted as telling police “I just murdered my wife,” in the criminal complaint, adding “I”ll be waiting in the driveway. I won’t be any problem. I’ll be unarmed.”
An autopsy revealed over 20 stab wounds on the victim’s body, and some of her ribs were broken from the force of the stabs.
Court records show she had filed for divorce from Scott back on December 20.
He is being held on cash bond of $1 million.
