Rock County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force hosting free awareness event

The Rock County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force is training the public on what they say is a growing issue.
Vice Chairwoman Carrie Wyatt says the task force is holding a free public event at St. Mary’s Hospital in Janesville at 5:00 p.m. on March 7.
A panel of task force member will be sharing risk factors, indicators, warnings and resources on the crime she says is growing in the community.
She says human trafficking happens in Rock County, and the public needs to be aware of the dangers.
The Task Force is made up of more than 25 representatives from law enforcement, education and health care among other fields, and they trained over 1,300 Rock County community members in 2018.
Wyatt says a big focus right now is social media.
