Judge Michael Haakenson sentences 24-year-old Eric Salazar-Mota to 14 years in prison plus 10 years of supervision in the shooting death of a 5-year-old boy in Beloit.
The victim, Austin Ramos Jr., was killed while riding in a vehicle driven by his father in 2016. His mother and grandmother testified during the sentencing Friday afternoon.
Salazar-Mota received one year less than the maximum prison sentence for the 2nd-degree reckless homicide charge to which he plead guilty.
He is one of four men charged in the drive-by shooting, and the second to be sentenced.
26-year old Sergio Ortiz was sentenced to 40 years in prison plus 20 years of supervision back in November.
