Ice jam continues to cause flooding on Rock River

An ice jam on the Rock River continues to cause flooding in the area.
The Rock County Sheriff’s office says the Department of Natural Resources has advised that the best course of action in dealing with the ice jam at the bridge at West Beloit Rock Townline Road is to let it break up naturally.
Citizens in the affected area are being advised to monitor the water levels and any impact flooding may have on their properties, and evacuate if necessary.
Sandbags and sand are available for residents affected at Rock Town Hall in Afton.
