The Janesvillle Police Department brings its parking enforcement into the 21st century.
They’ve partnered with software company Passport Labs to upgrade their parking citation system.
Sergeant Josh Norem says the new web-based platform will replace the hand-written tickets starting Thursday.
Officers enforcing parking will use a mobile app to write tickets and print them out on a Bluetooth printer.
Sergeant Norem says the real-time system will also allow them to collect data to better understand parking violations in the city.
Citations will now be able to be paid online on the police department’s website.
