Dozens of volunteers will be serving up scenes of popular fairy tales and movies to hundreds of children during the City of Janesville’s 17-annual Enchanted Forest and Hollywood Hayride. City Recreation Director Shelly Slapak says the event was created in part as an alternative to all the haunted houses and trails this time of year. The event became so popular, Slapak says the Wisconsin Parks and Recreation Conference has recognized it with an excellence in programming award, and many communities have since followed Janesville’s lead. The program runs (Wednesday) through Saturday at Palmer Park.
