A 24-year-old Belvidere, Illinois man is dead following an an accident involving farm equipment early Tuesday morning.
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office says first responders were dispatched to a farm field in the 7500 block of North Fox Road just after 1:00 Tuesday morning on the report that a person had been run over by a large piece of farm equipment.
Investigation determined that an 18-year-old Garden Prairie, Illinois man was driving a tractor when the victim attempted to exit the moving tractor. He slipped on some mud on the ladder, fell to the ground, and was run over by the tractor’s rear tire.
First responders found the victim unresponsive and not breathing. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation however no foul play is suspected.
