School District of Beloit remains 2-star district in annual Department of Instruction report cards

The School District of Beloit holds steady in the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction’s annual report card scores.
They decreased by less than a point and remained in the two-star “meets few expectations” category.
Scores are calculated based on student achievement, school growth, closing gaps between student groups and measures of post secondary readiness.
Beloit Memorial High School meets expectations at 65.7, scoring slightly higher than both Craig and Parker High Schools in Janesville.
Robinson and Hackett Elementary Schools were the district’s only four-star schools exceeding expectations.
McNeel and Fruzen Intermediate Schools and both failed to meet expectations as one-star schools.
The district is considering reorganizing its grade structure to form one intermediate school with 7th and 8th grade only, rather than the current model that groups 4th-through-8th grade.
The School District of Beloit Turner again “exceeds expectations” as a four-star district.
