Local law enforcement is preparing for the legalization of recreational marijuana in Illinois come the new year. Rock County Sheriff Troy Knudson anticipates a noticeable impact. Knudson says he’s sure there’ll be a need for increased services. He has not requested big changes in the budget, and prefers to wait to see what’s needed. He says it may become such a big issue, additional staff will be necessary. One of Knudson’s top concerns is residents driving home from Illinois under the influence.
