Beloit police don’t suspect foul play with body found in Rock River

The Rock County Medical Examiner is performing an autopsy on the body found near the Rock River in Beloit Monday morning.
Beloit police say a walker on the Portland Avenue bridge spotted the male body and contacted officers just before 8:00 a.m.
Their preliminary investigation does not indicate anything “criminally suspicious,” but officials are still working to identify the body, determine the cause of death and notify the family.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police are only releasing limited information at this time.
