A state program is shining a light on a local business. Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation spokesman Dave Callender says First Class Cosmetology of Beloit has been chosen as a finalist in the Main Street Makeover Contest. Callender says main street businesses are important to community development. He says is many cases, they are the heart of the community and WEDC wants to help these businesses drive economic development downtown. Only five businesses state wide have been chosen as finalists for the contest which includes a ten-thousand dollar prize for future storefront renovations.
