The Janesville Operations Department has been busy preparing for the upcoming winter weather, unfortunately it may not do any good.
Operations Director John Whitcomb says some freezing rain is expected to precede the snow this weekend which will make clearing the side streets difficult for plow drivers.
Whitcomb says the roads will be pretty dicey for a fairly extended period of time so citizens shouldn’t go out until they have to.
The School District of Janesville has already canceled all events happening in district buildings Saturday and the town of Beloit and Village of Clinton have declared a snow emergencies.
The snow emergency in the town of Beloit runs from 8:00 Saturday morning until 8:00 Sunday morning.
The snow emergency in Clinton will run from 7:00 Friday night until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
