The Beloit School Board voted to accept the resignation of superintendent Dr. Stanley Munro during a special meeting Thursday night.
Munro’s resignation comes in the wake of formal complaints filed to the board accusing him of bullying staff and lying.
Board president Pam Charles said they want to rebuild trust with the community and get more feedback from parents.
The board hopes to have an interim superintendent in place by next Tuesday, and they plan to interview candidates from outside of the current administration over the weekend.
The school board also voted to discontinue a three-tier teacher rating system implemented by the now former superintendent and void any teachers’ improvement plans created by it.
In their next meeting on Tuesday, the board will hold a special vote for new officers to potentially restructure the current board leadership.
