Janesville man takes plea deal in child sexual assault case

A 19-year-old Janesville man who was charged with raping a little boy in the bathroom at Monterey Stadium in Janesville in July of 2018 takes a plea deal in Rock County Court.
Judge Barbara McCrory accepted a plea from Dakota Potts to an amended charge of second degree sexual assault of a child Tuesday morning.
Potts was originally charged with 1st degree sexual assault of a child which carries a maximum penalty of 60 years in prison. With the amended charge he faces a maximum of 40 years.
The state has agreed to argue for no more than three years of incarceration at sentencing on April 2nd.
