A local German interest group is teaming up with the Hedburg Public Library for a free ancestry event Tuesday night at 7:00.
President John Wasserstrass says it’s an opportunity for the public to learn about the library’s remodeled genealogy room, which includes a hard copy of records tracking millions of entries on families who emigrated from Germany in the 1800s.
Wasserstrass says their resources can help people dig deeper than the home DNA testing kits, and they also focus on German culture and history for members learning about their ancestors.
The event will include a presentation and tour from library staff about how to utilize their resources, and Wasserstrass will be presenting on the different regions of German heritage.
